Grant for a pre-doctoral contract in water management 2026

Purpose of the contract: to carry out a doctoral thesis in the Doctoral Program in Geology and Geological Engineering at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), within the framework of the Botín Foundation’s Water Observatory. The doctoral research will will primarily focus on examining the evolution of different aspects of groundwater governance and their impact on groundwater resources, as well as analysing groundwater availability dynamics using advanced statistical models. The ultimate aim is to generate robust, policy-relevant knowledge that contributes to improving groundwater management.

Contract start date: November 15, 2026.

Deadline for applications: September 3, 2026 at 23:59 CET. Applications will be evaluated as they are received, even before the deadline.
